Explore the Edge of the Tasman Peninsula

Spend the day exploring the Tasman Peninsula by land and sea. Your day includes award winning 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise, a taste of the Three Capes Track experience, gourmet local lunch and return guided bus transport.

Tour Itinerary

The bus departs from the Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Booking Centre at 7.00am. This is situated on Hobart’s waterfront on Franklin Wharf, next to the Constitution Dock Lifting Bridge.

8:30am 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise

Tasman Island Cruise – Award Winning Wilderness Cruise
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys has won multiple awards over its seventeen year history. This year the company was inducted into the hall of fame for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism (2012, 2013 & 2014).

You will join Robert Pennicott’s passionate team of local guides on a thrilling 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise. Travel along the spectacular coastline between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck. The custom-built yellow boats will take you deep into sea caves, past waterfalls, archways and to the base of Australia’s highest sea cliffs. We will observe rich wildlife including haul outs of hundreds of seals, thousands of shearwaters, diving gannets, terns, cormorants, petrels, sea eagles and albatross wheeling in the wind.

12:30pm Cape Hauy Walk

Land Experience – Three Capes Track
Step out onto the edge as you experience firsthand one of the peaks in the Three Capes Track, Cape Hauy towering over 100 metres above sea level. Throughout the walk you will be rewarded with front row seats to an inspiring panorama of the Tasman Peninsula. Starting at Fortescue Bay, the Cape Hauy Track passes through a vibrant variety of woodlands and heath before you emerge to be greeted by stunning views of amazing rock formations and sea cliffs plunging beneath your feet. This exhilarating walk can comfortably be completed in 4 hours.

4:30pm Depart
6:00pm Return to Hobart
